Happy Birthday, Relief Society!

A lady in our stake who had seen the Women's Conference posters asked me to make a poster for their ward's Relief Society birthday dinner. (Well actually, my mom volunteered me! Haha, this happens when your mom knows everyone in town.) I finally stumbled on the idea of arranging the text in the shape of a cake, and it came together pretty quickly after that. Originally black & white, I like it much better in color.

(What is Relief Society? The organization for adult women in the LDS church for the past 168 years. We meet for an hour on Sundays for spiritual lessons and have occasional meetings during the week. Sometimes parties.)

UPDATE: With spring RS dinners rolling around again, and Pinterest traffic sending a few people to this long-neglected blog, I thought I ought to offer a blank version that you can fill in with your own info, so here you go!

  4. Hi Joy, Sara, Jaclyn -- I'm glad you like it, thanks for asking. :) I went ahead and did up a blank version that you can fill in with your ward's info. There is an 8.5 x 11 for display and then 4-to-a-page for invites. Send me an email and I'll send you back the pdfs. (Hope you see this, I can't email back from comments!) tammychenault5 at gmail dot com

  10. Hi Cassie, what program are you using to make them? The files are meant to be a background image to add your own text to, so you could either print them out and hand write the info and then make copies, or type up something in whatever program you usually use. Let me know what you're using and I'll see if I can help!

    1. Hi Dorothy! I don't have an editable version at this time, you'd need some design software such as InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator to edit the PDF and add your text. However, if you want to send me your stake's RS birthday info I'd be happy to drop that in for you and send you a custom invite/poster to use, no charge. :) Thanks!

  16. Hi Tammy! This design you made is beautiful! I would love to use it for our Relief Society's celebration this month. I need to get the flyers and posters out by tomorrow. I thought I would try to create something myself and sat down to look for ideas just now. The one you have made seems so perfect and I hope there is a chance we can use it. I'll send you an email to the one you left above. Again, beautiful job on the design! - Auraleen

  17. Hi Tammy, I saved this long ago and thought I would be able to just add my info and get them printed out quickly, but see that it's not editable. I need them for church tomorrow (Easter)
Is there anyway you could add my info also?
